CTTS initiative Skills for a Digital Britain the CTTS City and Guilds 3661
NVQ for Communications Technologies Practitioners and Professionals
levels 2/3/4/ have been specifically designed to support
individuals and large corporations alike to gain the mandatory
qualifications required for CSCS cards. By 2010 it will be a government
requirement for everyone on a construction site to hold a CSCS card.

Q: I need to get a CSCS card ASAP. I have been told I must be enrolled and registered onto a NVQ to be eligable to apply for the CSCS card how soon can I enrol ?A: You can enrol immediately onto a NVQ by following the registration process. You will be registered with CTTS and given your candidate enrolment number and portfolio. You will have then met the requirement and be eligibale to apply for your CSCS card.
Q: How long does it take to achieve the NVQ?
A: That really depends on you and how quickly you can put together your portfolio of evidence. Then you will need to be assessed in the workplace and the evidence in your portfolio inspected and verified. Typically this takes between three months and a year to achieve or longer if necessary.The awarding body will not certificate until 12 weeks after registration.
Q: What help and support will I receive to achieve the NVQ?
A: Your unique password and login will allow you access to the CTTS NVQ learning zone where you will find a wealth of information such as a detailed discription of what is required of you and how to put together and gather the evidence. You will also have an optional opportunity to enrol onto an instructor-led induction course. Again you will be given all the advice you will need to get you started on your NVQ. You will be appointed a dedicated mentor to offer advice and guidance whenever you need it. You will also be sent a bespoke CTTS NVQ portfolio to help you with the administration of your evidence.
