CTTS is a BS EN ISO 9001:2015 BSI accredited company specialising in the design and delivery of telecommunications and communications cabling training.  Our courses cover the fundamentals of telecommunications and applications of fibre optics in the internal and external environments for example in IPCCTV, alarm and security systems, local area networks, digital cable fibre optic broadband as well as copper cabling for data communications and overhead working practices.

Diploma and certificates at Levels 3 & 4 ELC funded and self-funded courses are available that include Broadband Optical Networks, Voice and Data Networks and ICT testing, Air Blown Fibre Systems, Access Networks , Transport Networks and Mobile Telecommunications.

Training leads to qualifications that are nationally recognised and are on the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF).  All courses have some theoretical input, plus plenty of practical hands-on at the BT Openreach and Virgin Media approved training facilities in Lincoln UK.


This qualification will provide underpinning knowledge and practical skills for a career in the telecommunications industry as a telecoms professional.  The qualification are for candidates who work or want to work in a number of different job roles such as Telecommunications Technicians in the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) sector. The Level 3 Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles serve as technical certificates, in the IT, Software, Web & Telecoms Professionals Apprenticeship framework. City & Guilds 3667-03 Unit 302 Design and Plan for an Internal Network Cabling Infrastructure. 

This certificate is aimed at experienced cable installers looking to enhance their promotion prospects or move into telecoms infrastructure planning roles. This course is ideal for those looking at project management within the telecoms sector who will have to work with designed network plans.

The Level 3 Certificate in Designing and Planning Communications Networks combines the study of current telecommunications and computer networks, planning and project management. As an infrastructure planner you will have to balance technical design with costs and customer needs. Your design will have implications to the installers and asset management.  Successful planning will make a business or team more efficient and cost effective. Your network costing’s and lead times are very important as part of the business case and contract bidding process.  Good planning is also required for network and product warranties. This unit also covers preliminary surveys which can satisfy a business case for new or network upgrades.

Level 3 City & Guilds 6144-31 Award In Understanding Planning Supervising And Managing Working At Height (ELC)

This course is for candidates either in or planning to move into a supervisory/ management position in industries which involve working at height. It provides the knowledge required for planning, supervising and managing work at height, covering subjects ranging from Health and Safety, selecting contractors, equipment and relevant regulations related to this work. This qualification will provide knowledge and updating (CPD) for candidates who are already in or moving into supervisory/management roles.
