It will check the delegates understanding and ability to complete safe recovery of heavy cable form the Openreach network via the use of a Winch and hydraulic cutting tools
The delegate will safely recover heavy cable utilising a Winch to the specifications laid down in the Mechanised Cable Recovery, Trailer winch 2 and Medium Cabling Unit Handbook
Pre-requisites for this course are SA002 Underground Safety and Confined Spaces - Medium Risk

This will depend on the accreditation and what contract you are working under, for example, PIA accreditations only allow you to work on the specific PIA network within the Openreach network. To conduct work on an Openreach Contract you will need to be accredited for that specific Openreach accredited task.
• Yes, the course is assessed by Smart Awards, and participants will be required to complete a 20-question online assessment and practical assessments to demonstrate their understanding of safety procedures and competency in ladder and pole work.
