K008 – Hand Rodding in the UG Network

The 1/2 day of training is designed to equip the delegate with the necessary hand rodding and cabling skills that are essential prior to undertaking the K8 accreditation assessment.

This training module is an essential requirement for any Engineer/Contractor providing cables in underground ducting using Hand Rodding techniques.

Training Content:

1. Hand rod and rope a duct section in the UG network using hand rodding cabling techniques

2. Installing a cable into the duct section

3. Restrain cable using cable straps and bears or Kit joint support

4. Learn the correct quality standards

 

Practical Assessment:

Duration : Questionnaire 45 minutes Practical 4hrs

The engineer will Hand Rod a duct section and install an underground cable between a minimum of 3 surface boxes to demonstrate to the assessor they have a full understanding of the correct work practices and the required quality standards

 

We will deliver the training on the morning of day 1 then the assessment accreditation on afternoon of day 1
