Prerequisites for the accreditation modules

Smart Awards SA001 OH Safety and SA002 UG Safety

The module target audience for all the N Series accreditations listed below are for engineers working on the Openreach network including BT Northern Ireland, BT Operate and External Suppliers (Contractors).

These modules are an essential requirement for any Engineer/Contractor carrying out provision on FTTP strategic UG & OH Build or OH and UG cabling.

It will check the delegates' understanding & ability to complete the provision of the underground and overhead network from the Aggregation node to connectorized BT (CBT) using current Openreach working practices and quality standards.

N23 One Fibre Network FTTP Strategic UG and OH Build Training – 5 Days 

The 5 days of training are designed to equip the delegate with the necessary OFN skills that are essential prior to undertaking the N23 accreditation assessment.

Part One

Using the correct tools, equipment and working practices the delegate will be trained on the below tasks to the Openreach quality standard expected.

  1. Install No Drill bracket and Mobra
  2. Mount Large node on Mobra
  3. Introduce COF600 into large node and loop through
  4. Introduce 4/7BFT
  5. Mount UG CBT on pivot arm/Mobra and introduce tail into large node
  6. Introduce COF215 that will feed Small/medium node
  7. Install 2 x 32 splitter
  8. Complete the required splicing

Part Two

  1. Learn how to Install Small/medium node in temporary position on pole
  2. Learn how to Introduce COF215 feed into Small/medium node and loop through
  3. Learn how to Mount OH CBT on pole and introduce tail into Small/medium node
  4. Learn how to Install 2 x 32 splitter
  5. Learn how to Erect span of COF215 using correct clamp and route through and ELM
  6. Erect span of COF250 using correct clamp and anti-oscillation twists
  7. Complete required splicing

Testing

Light Source to be put on and testing carried out at correct CBT ports.

Accreditation Assessment Content:

Duration : Questionnaire 90 minutes Practical 6hrs

This assessment will test the delegate’s knowledge of providing a Fibre network from and including the aggregation node to and including the CBT (overhead and underground) also including Connectorised leads on UG sites.

POSITION 1: Install No Drill bracket and Mobra – Mount Large node on Mobra – Introduce COF600 into large node and loop through – Introduce 4/7BFT – Mount UG CBT on pivot arm/Mobra and introduce tail into large node – Introduce COF215 that will feed Small/medium node – Install 2 x 32 splitter – Complete required splicing.

POSITION 2: Install Small/medium node in temporary position on pole – Introduce COF215 feed into Small/medium node and loop through – Mount OH CBT on pole and introduce tail into Small/medium node – Install 2 x 32 splitter – Erect span of COF215 using correct clamp and route through and ELM – Erect span of COF250 using correct clamp and anti-oscillation twists – Complete required splicing.

Using the correct tools, equipment and working practices the delegate will carry out the above task to the quality standard expected.

We will deliver the training on day 1 to 4 then the assessment accreditation on day 5
