This accreditation is for engineers working on the Openreach network including Openreach contract partners.
This module consists of two parts, a questionnaire and a practical session, the module assesses the delegate’s knowledge and ability working on ribbon fibre. Pre – requisites, the delegate should be adequately trained in the use of ribbon fibre and the splicing of ribbon fibre.
Day 1 – Training content:

Duration: Questionnaire 60 minutes – Practical 5 hours
Practical: Using the module Guidance you will check the standards achieved at the stages shown.

• Tasks assessed include installing no drill bracket and Mobra, correctly installing Extra Large/Large TM joint within UG structure, preparing 432 Ribbon fibre cable, introducing Ribbon cable into TM joint and Loop through, dropping off ribbons 1 and 2, storing remaining ribbons/bundles, preparing a single 432 Ribbon fibre cable and introducing it into circular port (feed), installing ribbon trays, splicing ribbon fibres, preparing COF200, closing TM joint to quality standards, and supporting and restraining cables as required.
